Rock Jitsu Is Back!

Rock Jitsu is back. The popular selfdefense outfit re-opened Thursday night, January 3rd at its original spot at 108-13 Rockaway Beach Drive just a couple of months after Sandy.

Rock-Jitsu is part of Team Renzo Gracie, one of the leading martial arts teams in the world. The instructors who lead classes say students who train here have a special and direct connection to the famous Gracie lineage. The Gracie Family started Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Professor Stewart Carroll is the Head Instructor and is a native of Rockaway Park. According to Stewart, Brazilian jiu-jitsu self-defense classes help you gain confidence, build a fit and toned body, and give you the knowledge needed to protect you and your family.

The school also offers programs for kids. Professor Stewart says, “Our classes will boost their confidence, give them greater focus and self-discipline, channel excess energy, and teach them key skills for life-long success. We have developed a class that is unique and has been blended with the developmental stages of a child in mind. We provide a clean, safe and inviting environment that will keep your child focused on the goals at hand.

“If you are looking for a fun, safe and professional studio where your child can learn a traditional Martial Art and build friendships that last a lifetime, then look no further!”

For more information, stop by the studio or call 718-310-0166.
