Yom Hashoah – Holocaust Remembrance Day

The entire Rockaway community is invited to attend the annual Yom Hashoah (Holocaust) Remembrance Program on Sunday evening, April 30 at 7:15 p.m., specifically scheduled to coincide with National Days of Remembrance as designated by the United States Congress. The local event will take place in the Temple Beth- El Sanctuary on Beach 121st Street.

Sponsored by Temple Beth- El, West End Temple and Jewish War Veterans, the program will be both a memorial and an educational evening. In addition to candle lighting and musical selections, we are fortunate that Dr. Jeffrey Vorsanger, a Belle Harbor resident, will relate his father’s experiences in escaping the Nazis. The program is appropriate for all ages. We especially welcome children. Please encourage your family members, friends and neighbors to attend the Holocaust Remembrance evening. Let us all learn from history, as, together, we work toward a better world.

An RSVP is appreciated so that you may be properly greeted on Sunday, April 30 at 7:15 p.m.

Temple Beth-El is located at 201 Beach 121st St.
