Health & Harmony Wellness Center, Rockaway’s original and only integrative and holistic healthcare center and sangha will be onsite at Beach 94th Street adjacent to the plaza from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday June 3 presenting a Labyrinth Walk for the Arts.

Labyrinths are a symbol for spiritual journey and renewal, combining the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a wandering but purposeful path. It represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. You might call it a spiritual quest. Labyrinths have been used throughout history as a tool for meditation, contemplation and prayer.

To walk the Rockaway labyrinth helps create balance from within, gain self awareness and build resilience. Labyrinths show abundant research on its effectiveness in decreasing PTSD, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and a host of physical ailments from hypertension to IBS.

The paths loop and spiral, mirroring the places in life where we make transitions and carve out new paths for ourselves. There is only one way in and one way out. You follow the path into the center and follow the same path out of the labyrinth.
